From the moment you arrive in Kathmandu, you discover its colorful cultural history, evident in the sheer number of temples and festivals. We complete our tour to the cultural heritage sites of the Kathmandu Valley which is illustrated by seven groups of monuments and buildings which display the full range of historic and artistic achievements for which the Kathmandu Valley is world famous. The seven include the Durbar Squares of Hanuman Dhoka (Kathmandu), Patan and Bhaktapur, the Buddhist stupas of Swayambhu and Bauddhanath and the Hindu temples of Pashupati and Changu Narayan. We continue onwards to Pokhara, famous for its splendid natural beauty as well as its trekking and hiking. When the time comes to travel to Chitwan, you will understand why Nepal is considered the biggest natural museum in the world. The Chitwan National Park has Sal forests that cover 70% of the area and there are about 600 species of plants and 450 species of birds. Nepal is also home to the only significant number of one-horned rhinos and other endangered species like the Bengal Tiger, the gangetic dolphins and the gharial crocodiles. There are altogether over 43 species of large mammals, 526 species of birds, 150 different types of butterflies, 126 species of fish and 49 species of reptiles in this wonderful Park. From Chitwan we drive to Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha that carries special importance for both Buddhists and Hindus and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site

DETAIL ITINERARY:

Day 1 Arrival KATHMANDU (1300m/4265ft):
Arrive at Kathmandu International Airport where you will be warmly welcomed by our representative and check in to the hotel. The rest of the day is free to explore this historic and vibrant city. Meals: NO

Day 2 KATHMANDU:
After breakfast we depart the hotel for a full-day guided sightseeing tour of Kathmandu, the "city of glory." We visit Durbar (Palace) Square, the epicenter of religious and cultural life, an area filled with old temples and historical significance with old glorious Newari architecture. Some of the sights include Kal Bhairav, Hanuman Dhoka, Taleju Temple, Kasthamandap and Kumari Ghar; home to the Living Goddess. Afterwards we visit Swoyambhunath Stupa, said to be one of the oldest Buddhist stupas in the world, which is majestically set high on a hill overlooking Kathmandu Valley. We proceed towards Pashupatinath Temple, a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. This massive temple complex sits alongside the banks of the holy Bagmati River. Only Hindus are allowed to enter the courtyard of the temple, whereas tourists can see the temple from the eastern side of the Bagmati River. Later we visit Boudhanath, a Buddhist Stupa said to be one of the largest in the world. This massive structure stands tall with four pairs of eyes each facing the four cardinal directions, watching for righteous behavior of mankind and for human prosperity. Day 3 PATAN & BHAKTAPUR:
We check out from the hotel after breakfast for a guided sightseeing tour of Patan, the city of Fine Arts. We visit Durbar Square, Krishna Temple, Golden Temple (Hiranya Varna Mahavihar), etc. We also visit the Tibetan Handicraft Centre where we can see the art of making carpets by the Tibetan refugees. Afterwards we head for one and half hour scenic drive to Nagarkot and enroute we stop at Bhaktapur, the ďCity of DevoteesĒ. The tour begins in Bhaktapur with a visit to Durbar Square, the Golden Gate and the Palace of 55 Windows to see Lionís Gate, The Nyatapola Temple, the tallest of its kind in Nepal, Bhairab Temple and the Pottery Centre. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 4 Drive to POKHARA (884m/2900ft):
After morning breakfast in the hotel, the tour starts with the scenic view of beautiful hills, countryside lifestyle driving along the Trishuli River. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 5 POKHARA:
Early at dawn we hike up to Sarangkot viewpoint to witness natureís ethereal lightshow as the sun rises over the Annapurna range turning its peaks from white to gold. After breakfast we go to see the deep, narrow gorge of roaring Seti River from where we drive to Deviís Falls and further to Gupteswar Cave and the Bat Cave. In the evening we go lazing by the Phewa Lake for the leisurely row on its sparkling waters. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 6 Drive to CHITWAN:
After breakfast we head west to Chitwan National park, one of the best managed parks in the world, which is approximately 160km and takes 4-5 hours from Pokhara. We enjoy lunch at a lodge and participate in various jungle activities such as an elephant safari, jungle drive and a nature walk. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Day 7 CHITWAN:
For watching wildlife, birds and the rare species of flora and fauna we can either go for Jungle Safari deep into the park in a four wheel jeep or on walk or choose an altogether relaxing way on a canoeing trip on the Rapti or Narayani Rivers or by elephant riding which is much thrilling rather than comfortable. Moreover, we can head for exploring surrounding Tharu villages. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 8 Drive to LUMBINI:
Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha, is 192 km drive from Chitwan. The spiritual heart of Lumbini is the Maya Devi Temple where the Buddha was born under a Bodhi tree. Other sights in Lumbini are Ashoka Pillar, Buddhist Monasteries, World Peace Pagoda and Lumbini Crane Sanctuary. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 9 Drive to NAGARKOT (2175m/7136ft) VIA KATHMANDU:
Starting early in the morning we drive back to Kathmandu and onwards to an one and half hour scenic drive to Nagarkot village (2175m) set on a ridge, just 32km from Kathmandu, facing one of the broadest possible views of the Himalaya. Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Day 10 Back KATHMANDU:
In Nagarkot after watching sunrise we can take in a panorama from Dhaulagiri in the west to Mt. Everest, Kanchenjunga in the east, via Ganesh Himal, Langtang Lirung, Shisha Pangma, Dorje Lakpa and Gauri Shanker. We drive back to Kathmandu. Meals: Breakfast
